I am super excited to lead a Small Group this fall! It will be a fun departure from supporting and forming small group leaders to returning to leading small groups. I loved attending small groups throughout college and I am still great friends with many of my small group members from college (which was ages ago!!) Small Groups made a huge impact on my personal faith and the awesome community that can only be found in a small group helped me survive all the ups and downs of college and life.
This semester I am excited to focus on the Acts of the Apostles using the amazing Little Rock Scripture Study material which is used across the world but was started right here in our diocese. Any college-aged person or young alumni is welcome to be a part of this group regardless of what college you attend...this means upperclassmen, graduate students, and young working professionals you are included too!!
Be sure to register with us to sign up or just contact me if you have any questions!!
Ministry Bio:
Kasey Miller grew up in North Carolina where her love of basketball, sweet tea, and of course BBQ began. After graduating high school, she relocated to Richmond, VA. She worked as a surgical assistant and clinical coordinator for a large oral and facial surgery practice before she returned to college at Virginia Commonwealth University, hoping to become an oral surgeon. However, during her third year, she began her conversion process, which lead her to not only join the Catholic Church but to change her major. She graduated from VCU with a BA in Religious Studies with a minor in Catholic Studies.
During that final year, she became active in campus ministry and found her place in the world.
After completing an internship with VCU and the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, she stepped out in faith and accepted a job as a campus minister at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where she served for three years. All the while pursuing an MA in Religious Education with a concentration in Youth and Young Adult Ministry at Fordham University. She is currently completing her Master’s project.
Kasey is passionate about helping students connect to Christ during college, which is often a season of tremendous change and empowering them to become disciple-makers. Beyond her ministry roles, she brings an interest in graphic design to CCM Conway's social media accounts. But most of all she is excited to get to know the students of CCM Conway and walk with them during their time at college.
Outside of CCM Conway, Kasey has many interests that help keep her balanced and energized to serve. She can be found playing roller derby with the Rock Town Roller Derby, coaching for the Learn to Skate program at the Arkansas Skatium, making weird faces in every photograph possible, adventuring around the region, and even baking tasty desserts.
Kasey loves for students to drop in for a chat. She can often be found in the office on Tuesdays-Fridays and running around on Sundays. You can contact her via email at [email protected]
