Due to the directives given by the Diocese of Little Rock, it would be extremely difficult to hold Mass as the CCM House. St Joseph's has offered the use of the church for our regular CCM Sunday Masses.
This is still the CCM Mass meaning all the liturgical roles and music will be lead by students.
We will follow the protocol outlined by the Bishop.
If you aren't able to make the CCM Mass or a holiday is preventing CCM from holding Mass, St. Joseph's parish is less than 1.5 miles from any campus in Conway. Many students will help with carpool for those without cars.
Can't make it to Mass in person?
Stream the CCM Mass at 7:30 pm from St Joseph's either through their FB page or from their YouTube Page.
And of course you can stream any St. Joseph's Mass as well.
Looking for a way to serve and connect even more to the Mass? Then Liturgical Ministries might just be what you are looking for! Our CCM Mass on Sundays at 7:30 pm is not just for college-aged people, but it is your Mass. We envision students serving in all of the liturgical ministries every Mass! Right now we are looking for lectors, ushers, gift bearer, and tech ministers.
Of course, we are happy to train anyone who would like to serve or just wants a refresher. Contact Kasey Miller to set something up. We are working on scheduling an EMC (Extraordinary Ministers of Communion) training through St. Joseph's soon so stay tuned for that announcement!!
Lectors proclaim the scripture readings each week, helping to bring it alive by doing more than just reading. They recite it as if reciting poetry; pausing, emphasizing, making eye contact.
Ushers are the welcoming hello at the doors of the church and the helpful hands to make Mass take place with ease. They arrive early so they can welcome and greet everyone who joins us for Mass each week. They help answer any questions visitors may have or at least get them to Deacon or Kasey for assistance. And they help ensure the church is properly sanitized by helping to wipe down the pews and gathering others to help out as well.
Gift Bearers help ensure there are enough hosts for the Mass. They work with the sacristan to count the number of people at Mass then take up the hosts after the Prayers of the Faithful.
Tech Ministers help our Campus Minister, Kasey Miller, will both the sound system and the live stream. This minister arrives early to assist the Mass Music Ministry in soundcheck, but they also update the live stream to prepare for our Mass. They remain in the booth throughout the Mass to make adjustments as needed and manage the video for the live stream.
Music plays a vital role in the Mass. It helps us to connect to God, to each other, and to what's happening right in front of us. And at CCM Conway our Mass Music is lead by students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Our Music Directors prayerfully select music based on the readings and the liturgical season while incorporating both beautiful traditional hymns with moving contemporary worship songs. Then they gather members of the CCM Conway community together to practice and pray to prepare for our weekly Mass. Music Ministry members take care of all the music needs from playing instruments, singing with the choir, cantoring the Psalms, setting up equipment, and creating worship aids.
Music Ministry members can participate as much or as little as their schedule allows. So it is a great way to serve if you have a particularly busy semester. If you are interested in learning more or to join, email on of our Music Directors.
RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults – is the process to learn more about faith, the Catholic Church, and what it means to be a part of the Catholic community.
Each cohort is usually a mixture of Catholics seeking to complete their religious education/complete their Sacraments, Christians seeking to join the Catholic church from another denomination, people embracing faith for the first time, and people just curious about the Catholic faith.
Classes are held at St. Joseph's Spiritian Hall every Tuesday at 7 pm from August through June, but you can join at any time. Each member of the cohort processing through is connected to a trained member of the local Catholic community to walk with you on your journey.
